Overview

Century Foto e Vídeo is a professional photography and videography studio based in Joinville, Santa Catarina, serving the Brazilian wedding and events market. At a time when most small studios relied on static HTML sites or expensive off-the-shelf solutions, this project delivered a fully custom web presence — including a bespoke CMS — built from scratch.

The website's centerpiece was an immersive photo gallery: nine high-resolution images cycling session-by-session in the background, with a thumbnail rail for direct navigation. Clicking a thumbnail triggered a smooth image swap and played an audio click — an interaction model that was genuinely ahead of the curve in 2007. A Flash-animated logo rounded out the premium aesthetic the client wanted to project.

Behind the front end, a purpose-built PHP/MySQL CMS gave the studio owner complete control over their content. The admin panel included a WYSIWYG rich-text editor for page copy, an event management wizard to track bookings, and an image uploader that automatically applied a watermark to protect the studio's photography IP. No developer involvement was needed for day-to-day updates — a meaningful operational gain for a small business owner managing a portfolio on a tight schedule.
