Maquel Cosméticos was the official website for Maquel Estética Profissional, a cosmetics manufacturer based in Joinville, Brazil. Launched in 2009, the site served both as a public-facing brand platform and a professional resource center for the beauty therapists who used Maquel products in their practice.
Built on Joomla! 1.0 — the leading open-source PHP CMS of its era — the site featured a fully custom template with a branded purple-and-white palette and the company's visual identity. Sections covered the company's history, mission, and quality seals, alongside a VirtueMart-powered product catalog with individual product pages, high-quality imagery, and detailed formulation descriptions.
The "Espaço Estética" section was a dedicated professional hub: it provided step-by-step application protocols for estheticians, a glossary of active ingredients explaining the science behind each formulation, and a DocMan-powered download library for press materials and technical documents.
An Acajoom newsletter module let visitors subscribe to Maquel product news, supporting ongoing client retention. The site gave Maquel a full digital presence — extending their reach from physical salon supply chains to an online community of professional estheticians across Brazil.
