Overview

NR-10 was a Joomla-based educational portal at www.nr-10.com dedicated to Brazil's Norma Regulamentadora Nº 10 — the federal standard that defines safety requirements for electrical installations and services in every workplace that generates, transmits, distributes, or consumes electricity.

The site served electricians, safety engineers, and companies obligated to comply with the standard: it published the full NR-10 regulatory text (Portaria nº 598/2004 and subsequent amendments), catalogued the relevant ABNT technical norms (NBR-5410, NBR-14039) and MTE ministerial ordinances, and listed the mandatory 40-hour Basic Course and 40-hour Complementary SEP Course required for worker authorization.

Beyond a reference library, the portal included a user registration and login system giving enrolled students access to a password-protected Sala dos Alunos — a members-only area for course participants. The green-themed, XHTML-validated site supported PDF export and print views for every regulatory article, and carried an RSS feed so subscribers could follow updates to the norms.

The project was built for a Brazilian electrical safety training provider in 2008, using Joomla 1.0.x on a shared PHP/MySQL host, and was the developer's first CMS deployment.
